Owls Innocent Smoothie Hat

The Big Knit

Owls Hat

This hat is based on Owlings Wristwarmers, a pattern I found on Ravelry. It, in turn, was based on the Owls jumper (also on Ravelry).

Needles - 4mm
Yarn - DK

Cast on 28 sts

Knit 2 rows

Row 1 - K1, P1, * CB2B, CB2F, P1 * repeat to last 2 sts, P1, K1 (RS)
Row 2 - P1, K1, * P4, K1 * repeat to last 2 sts, K1, P1 (WS)
Row 3 - K1, P1, * K4, P1 * repeat to last 2 sts, P1, K1
Row 4 - Repeat Row 2
Row 5 - Repeat Row 3
Row 6 - Repeat Row 2
Row 7 - Repeat Row 1 (Cable row)
Row 8 - Repeat Row 2
Row 9 - Repeat Row 3
Row 10 - Repeat Row 2
Row 11 - Repeat Row 1 (Cable row)
Row 12 - Repeat Row 2

K2TOG across row (14 sts)
P2TOG across row (7 sts)
K1, (K2TOG x 3) (4 sts)

I-Cord - Work 6 rows of I-Cord (transfer the stitches from the right to the left needle, pulling the yarn tight and knitting them again)

K2TOG x 2 (as in I-Cord) pass right stitch over left and pull the yarn through the last stitch.

Get some yarn in a different colour, or some beads, and sew on the owls eyes as in the photo. Do this BEFORE you sew the hat up!
